Your daughter may be affected in her future when she decides to marry. She may seek out the same type of man unconsciously and end up the same way. Or she may decide not to marry at all.
The degree to which he has gone to make your life miserable, shows that he is a very manipulative person. He is well aware of what he is doing. That type of person is toxic. They make you doubt yourself as well as blame you for everything. That song fits them "if your lips are moving, you are lying"

I can see what Mr. Happy saw. But there are a variety of reasons why they chose that design.
1. It is simply lines that are easy to draw and looks like other designs the artist saw (it may not even be an "artist" that made the design)
2. A secret pimo that is having the last laugh.
3. WT likes to "borrow" designs and it could be someone else's.
If you join the art together, it also looks like a quilt design lol.

Hi. You probably haven't read anything from the past, that the WT has published about abusive marriages.
Every story I remember was -
Woman becomes a JW and is treated badly by the worldly husband and stays with him until 20 years go by and he accepts the truth.
Woman is married to a JW man and she feels abandoned and lonely. She is counseled to try harder to make him happy because it is her fault. Only then, will her husband treat her right.
In both cases, the example that the WT presents, is that the woman should suffer spousal abuse for the truth. Whether it is because they are worldly or a JW.
The stories may not be true, but that is message the WT wants all women to accept.
It doesn't sound like either of you is having a relationship that is healthy. He needs counseling and maybe medicine - it would probably do him good to escape the WT because it's doctrines can increase feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness. Counseling can also benefit you. I'm sorry for both of you being in that religion.

What is you 'red line'?

what would be the doctrinal change or event that would tip you over the edge into leaving for good, regardless of the repercussions?

no zombie - when they changed from zero blood to fractions, it bothered me because they so strongly emphasized in the past, zero tolerance. It bothered older ones too. But none left. They may have said to themselves that they wouldn't take any blood but if others did, well that was their conscience.....
Some might leave or realize that it couldn't be right to just change it. But in the past there was something similar with organ transplants. Who knows how many died obeying them, I know of one. But when it changed, a bunch of JW's didn't leave. So I'm sure some would but not a lot. I'm not a pimo by the way.

steve 2 - Loong day at work so I couldn't answer you. At the beginning of the article, the doomsday clock is just before 12:00 right? If it does go to 12, it would mean no hope - destruction of the world we know. The second illustration of the clock is 12:05 and it shows a man in paradise. In JW land it means that god has saved the world and the clock now goes on forever....
What it really means tho, is that God is the doom that struck at 12 and took out all the "bad" people. Yeah instead of a nuclear annihilation, it is God that destroys the majority of humans.
And talking about words, the word "bad" is used in the articles. A label that to a Jw means evil. It is also the black and white thinking the WT gets people accustomed to, so that it is easy not to think of "worldly" people as well, people. Tony the III also turns humans into "hotdogs" Since I was raised in the "truth" since I was 5, I also thought in black in white. You don't know it of course.
The magazine left on the porch, could have been left by an annoying Jw that wants to count time on me and believes that she is motivated by love to save me. The last time a set of magazines were left, I didn't pick them up and two days later, they were gone! Guess she (or ?) didn't want to waste the precious mags.

I occasionaly get a magazine left on the porch of my house. This time it was an awake. IS THE WORLD OUT OF CONTROL?
It is not that it is earth shaking or surprising in the content - but there were some things that stood out to me. One is the font choice for the main article. It is in all caps but the first part of the title - it's line stroke is only as wide as an eyelash and the last two words more in bold. Something like this "IS THE WORLD OUT OF CONTROL OR NOT?"
Apparently the WT is attacking the thought that life has improved and that people are working to better things. Here is the last paragraph on the first page.
"In fact, millions of people believe in a bright future. They profess to have evidence showing that mankind and our planet will survive indefinitely and that our quality of life will improve. Is that evidence credible? Is the world out of control or not?"
Of course the doomsday clock is the illustration and at the bottom, the reason why the scientists call it that. The next page shows illos of tornados, factory pollution and a person in a hospital bed. Oh and half a mushroom atomic cloud.
Opening sentence on this page. "IF YOU (caps their's) are apprehensive or scared outright by the barrage of bad news, you are not alone. In 2014, Barack Obama, who was then president of the United States, suggested that because of all the bad things reported in the press, many conclude "that the world is spinning . . . . fast and nobody is able to control it."
Titles in red that go with the pictures mentioned before hand. OUR HEALTH UNDER SIEGE. HUMAN'S ATTACKS ON NATURE. NATURE'S ATTACKS ON HUMANS. WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
Concluding sentence in article. "Surely you can think of other grave threats to our survival. Yet, you will not find statisfying answers about the future by analyzing all the bad things happening today." Of course it finishes with the question of where can you find the answers to these problems....
Again with the spidery lettering and bold "IS THE WORLD OUT OF CONTROL? What Does the Bible Say?" Now they have the second part in the more friendly Upper Lowercase.
Opening comment paragraph has an interesting shift from black text, to red. "THE dire state of the world today was foretold in the Bible many centuries ago. And what is more, the bible specifically predicted a bright future for mankind. (RED) What the Bible says should not be quickly dismissed in view of the fact that so much of what it foretells has actually been fulfilled in amazing detail.
There's a list of evidences from the bible next - punctuated by red text of more negative remarks about the world. Next page shows the doomsday clock past 12:00 but there is a man in a surprised position in paradise next to it. Of course it is because JW's are a global community that worship God and expect him to save them.
The next two pages are on how to make sure you teach your children humility. Which is fine except I'm sure the WT's aim is to make sure JW children aren't given positive unconditional love. It is true that if you only praise children and don't give guidelines on conduct, they will tend to expect everything is for them. But how many JW kids get pampered? It is not that the information is incorrect but I don't trust the motive behind it. Because of course, there is the common put down in JW land that you are a speck of dust that doesn't deserve anything so be humble.
Last article is about Alhazen. Man who was a scientist/inventor. Made the first recorded camera obscura. Wrote seven books about Optics that laid the ground work for lenses etc. Best sentences for the magazine is found at the end.
